I’m an artist, sculptor, printmaker and bookmaker.
I grew up in England and studied Art and Design after leaving school, but was never really very happy working as a Graphic Designer, and so after a while I quit and sort of got by with bar or shop work or waitressing and moved around a bit.
After my 3 children were born I felt a real need to get art back in my life and enrolled on a Return to Art course where I was amazed to discover a talent for sculpture with the help of my awesome tutor, from whom I have learnt so much. From there I graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art/Sculpture from the Norwich School of Art and Design in 2004. Getting in step with my creativity at last has been incredible. My imagination is often running several steps ahead of me, art is a way for me to express so much mental chaos in a reasonably ordered way!
With my family I have since moved to South West France, near to the beautiful city of Carcassonne and set up my own studio. Because I have a low boredom threshold I work on a wide range of projects in a diverse range of media, but despite the diversity in my art, the common thread that runs through all is my life-long obsession with European storytelling, fairytale, legend, myth and folklore. Inspired by these, I create sculptures for exhibitions, produce prints, make limited edition and single books, print stationery, make objects and drawing virtually everyday, while constantly listening to music, taking photos obssesively, eating tomatoes and garlic and drinking wine.
I sell my artwork direct from my studio or online in my etsy and dawanda shops.
